Grizzly remember 399 | Here & Now

Grizzly remember 399 | Here & Now

A globally famous grizzly bear died in late October after being hit by a car south of Jackson, Wyoming. Grizzly 399 – named after the number on her tracking tag – was known for her unflappable maternal instincts and enormous emotional range. She became a symbol of wildlife recovery in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and around the world.

Renowned photographer Tom Mangelsen joined Peter O’Dowd to reflect on 399’s life and legacy.

This segment will air on November 1, 2024. Audio will be available after the broadcast.
