Clement’s message to fans as everyone ‘takes responsibility’

Under-pressure boss Philippe Clement has sent a message to Rangers supporters saying he is “working very hard” to turn around the club’s fortunes.

Rangers, who are nine points behind the Premier League’s top two Celtic and Aberdeen after the defeat to the Dons in midweek, face Motherwell in the League Cup semi-final at Hampden on Sunday, with Clement there ” is very confident” that he will retain the support of the board.

“As (the fans) saw last season, with the right conclusions, the right attitude, the right mentality, the right spirit, things can change very quickly. And we are working very hard on that with the whole group,” Clement said.

“Every loss is a tragedy, it is really a bad thing. That is what you have to live with and what you have to embrace. That is why you also have the good moments and we will continue to work hard with the team.” to have that in their heads.”

Holders Rangers, who beat Aberdeen to lift the trophy for the first time in 12 years last season, have the chance to reach back-to-back League Cup finals.

Clement is confident his side will bounce back from midweek disappointment at Pittodrie and says everyone in the team has taken responsibility for their recent disappointing performances.

“I’m going to do the same as last season and the same as now,” he added.

“I do a little more at the club than at that moment, because there are many other things to do.

But I certainly have a lot of confidence in it. I also feel how the team works, no matter how they were in the meeting today.

“It’s not a team that doesn’t take responsibility either. They took responsibility, the staff took responsibility, I take responsibility and we all move on to make things better.”
