Austin police seek armed robbery suspects at ‘sweepstakes’ store

AUSTIN, TX (KWTX) – Austin police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects in an Oct. 16 armed robbery.

According to a police report, the suspects entered the Lucky Lounge at 11530 Menchaca Road around 3:04 a.m. An online search of the address shows the company is called the Lucky Fortune Sweepstakes.

According to police reports, one of the suspects was armed with a semiautomatic handgun. The armed suspect pointed the gun at a woman’s face while inside and stole her purse. The same man then allegedly robbed a cashier at gunpoint, police said.

The second suspect is said to have been a lookout during the armed robbery.

The armed suspect was described by police as a thin black male in his mid-to-late 20s who was last seen wearing the following items: black pants, black shoes and a black hoodie.

The suspect standing at the door is described as a muscular man wearing skinny jeans, black shoes and a gray hoodie.

Those who provide information may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest.
