Less than two weeks away from his showdown with Jake Paul, Mike Tyson isn’t surprised he’s getting ready to enter the boxing ring at the age of 58.

In a fragment of him Behind the Mike On YouTube, Tyson explained that his journey back to the sport that made him famous was “written” long before he was born.

This is a different version of Tyson than the one who was boxing’s biggest star during his peak in the ’80s and ’90s. Iron Mike admits in the video that he “doesn’t have to give people a bad name anymore” and that he is “very happy” with where he is now.

As for how he feels as a boxer heading into this fight, Tyson said he is “good enough” to beat Paul.

Tyson certainly seems to be in a good place physically after a… stomach ulcer problem caused the fight to be postponed from its originally scheduled date of July 20.

The upcoming fight with Paul will be Tyson’s first sanctioned fight since June 11, 2005. He is 50-6 with two no-contests in 58 career fights.

Paul has amassed a 10-1 record in his eleven fights since turning professional as a boxer in 2020. He last defeated boxer Mike Perry bare-knuckle on July 20 in a fight that was scheduled after Tyson’s illness forced him to postpone their bout.

Tyson and Paul meet on November 15 from AT&T Stadium.
