Ben Affleck makes surprising comments about ex Jennifer Lopez during divorce

Ben Affleck praised his soon-to-be ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez, during their ongoing divorce proceedings.

The Oscar winner, 52, had a kind word for Lopez, 55, following her performance in the upcoming film “Unstoppable,” in which he served as a producer.

During an interview with ‘Entertainment Tonight’ Affleck appeared alongside longtime friend Matt Damon to discuss the film and its early reviews.

Affleck compared the project to his other film, “Small Things Like These,” which stars “Oppenheimer” and “Peaky Blinders” actor Cillian Murphy.

“‘Unstoppable’ is a very different film than this one, but in a way it’s also rooted in the passion of really talented artists,” he told the outlet.

“Billy Goldenberg and Jennifer and Don Cheadle and Jharrel (Jerome) and Bobby Cannavale were all very passionate about this film,” the Oscar winner continued.

Affleck briefly touched on the cast and couldn’t help but praise the ‘On The Floor’ hitmaker for her moving performance in the film.

“Jennifer is spectacular,” he said, adding that the film is “another film that we are really proud of.”

“We believed in the right people, and ‘Unstoppable’ is another example of that,” he added.

Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20 after two years of marriage.

Although the exes haven’t hit the red carpet together since, the duo reunited for a surprise event PDA-filled brunch in Beverly Hills with some of their children in September.

While sources exclusively told Page Six at the time that Affleck and Lopez kissed and held handsthey also confirmed that the couple is moving forward with their split.

The insider called their blended family a “priority” as they “amicably… worked out financial details.”

In an interview last month, the “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer explained why she did that is “excited” to be single.

“Everything I’ve done over the last 25, 30 years, in these different challenging situations, what can I do when I’m alone and flying alone… what if I’m just free?” she told Interviewmagazine.

Although she admitted that the “new territory” is “lonely, unknown, scary,” “sad” and “desperate,” Lopez emphasized that “being in a relationship does not define her.”

“When you sit in those feelings and say, ‘These things aren’t going to kill me,’ it’s like, ‘Actually, I’m capable of joy and happiness all by myself,'” she added.

“I can’t look for happiness in other people,” she continued. “I must have happiness within myself.”

Affleck was previously married to Jennifer Garnerwith whom he shares Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.

Lopez, for her part, shares The 16-year-old twins Emme and Max of her third husbandMarc Anthony.

“Unstoppable” will be released on December 6.
