New Hampshire Town posts some of the first presidential results of 2024

Some of the very first results of the 2024 presidential election have been reported.

This was announced by Dixville Notch – a small town in New Hampshire, near the Canadian border Kamala Harris And Donald Trump tied up in their local breedhours before polling stations opened in the rest of the country.

Voting began shortly after midnight in Dixville Notch, continuing the city’s decades-long early voting tradition dating back to 1960 when Richard Nixon defeated unanimously John F Kennedy.

This year, Trump and Harris each earned three votes, according to reports CNN And WMUR. The city has a total of six registered voters for the 2024 elections

Dixville Notch’s unique voting tradition involves all eligible voters gathering as the polls open at midnight on Election Day. After all ballots have been cast privately, they are counted by hand and the results are tallied aloud.

The results are reported to the public quickly, before many Americans have cast their votes.

In July, Dixville backed Notch unanimously Nikki Haley over Donald Trump in the Republican primaries, which earned her six votes.

The city, which once had a conservative bent, has become more liberal in recent years as its population has shrunk.
