Spruce Grove Halloween display to support local food bank

For the 13th year in a row, the Spooktacular Acreage in Spruce Grove is offering family-friendly spooks for free to support a local food bank.

“We started in our driveway with just a few bounce houses and things like that,” recalls Kerry Pfannmuller.

“We have about 40 to 50 inflatables and every year we collect more and more. We have about 260 inflatables right now, plus the hearse, plus animatronics and stuff like that.”

This year’s exhibit features ghosts, jack o’lanterns and popular story characters.

“Everything from replacing lights to bringing in fans and replacing fans or motors or whatever, setting up the event takes about three to four weeks to fully set up with the help of myself, my agents and other volunteers,” Pfannmuller.

He and his co-creators, his partners at the Spruce Grove and North Edmonton Century 21 Leading Offices, are asking guests to donate to the Parkland County Food Bank this year.

Over 13 years, the Spooktacular Acreage has raised nearly $25,000 in donations for various charities.

“The reward for us is really the smiles on people’s faces and the excitement of the kids,” Pfannmuller told CTV News Edmonton.

The Spooktacular Acreage at 54020 Range Road 275 is open until October 31 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
