This “hidden in plain sight” find keeps my house smelling fresh

Even if I have to deal with a mess or a lot of chores, one thing that always brings me peace at home is a pleasant smell. What is the PuraPlus?

While Pura is known for its editor-favorite smart diffuser pluginthe Pura Plus is the brand’s next step forward in home fragrance. The unit is best suited for large and open spaces – including studio apartments – and is especially great for rooms with vaulted ceilings (like mine). Equipped with useful smart functions, the Pura Plus can hold up to two scents at the same time, which can be programmed via the app or controlled manually. Each scent lasts for up to a month if diffused for eight hours or less per day, and possibly longer if diffused for less than six hours per day. The fragrance offering include options from highly popular fragrance brands such as Homesick, Anthropologie, NEST New York, Capri Blue and more.

Through the Pura app, you can switch between scents, control the intensity of the scents, schedule run times throughout the week, set timers to preserve the life of your scents, and even find and purchase replacement scents. The Pura Plus also features adaptive diffusion, which “reads the temperature in the room and adjusts to your preferences for a consistent, reliable fragrance experience.” The device comes with a USB-C power cord (block included) for quick and easy installation.

Why I love the Pura Plus

When it comes to smart diffusers, Pura is my go-to. I have two plugins which are great for the bedrooms, and the Pura Plus was the perfect addition to the common areas of my home. My living room and kitchen are separated by a wall, but there is a large, open entrance in between. To get the most out of the Pura Plus, I placed it in the dining room, which is the focal point between the main area of the kitchen and the living room where everyone hangs out.

To start, Pura sent me one Pura Plus set with two fantastic autumn scents — Anthropologie’s Leathers and Leaves And Picking homesick pumpkins. They were just the right scents to make my house feel cozy as soon as someone walked in the door. Setting up the Pura Plus couldn’t be easier: the app guides you step-by-step through the process from connecting the device to your home Wi-Fi network to installing each premium fragrance refill. It took some trial and error before I figured out the right schedule and intensity for the size of my house, but now it’s going smoothly. Pro tip: You don’t have to turn on the diffuser all day to enjoy a wonderfully smelling home.

I’m completely sold on the Pura Plus, and having access to all three of my smart diffusers through one app is just an added benefit. It doesn’t take up much space, so I can easily tuck it close to the wall, and because the airflow is upward, I don’t have to worry about blocking the scent when I put other items near it. All in all, it’s a total win in my book!
