Shota Sato left as Farm Fresh coach; Benson Bocboc takes over

BIGGER changes are inevitable Farm fresh‘s way.

The Foxes have said goodbye to the Japanese head coach Shota Sato the lead after just two conferences.

Sato confirmed his departure to SPIN.ph on Thursday and said, “I will not be a head coach in the next conference.”

In his first conference at the helm in an import-laden game, Sato steered the charge Foxes to No. 8 seed with a 3-5 card in preliminary round play.

They fell short of a semi-final breakthrough after a four-set loss to Akari in the knockout quarter-final.

Farm Fresh’s 2024 PVL season received a surprise extension after being accepted into the five-team field at the Invitational Conference at the last minute.

Such a short period ended without a single win for the Foxies, finishing in fifth place.

To take Sato‘s spot for the Foxies as interim head coach ahead of the PVL All-Filipino Conference 2024-25 is Benson Bocboc.

Bocboc is no stranger to the PVL as a former deputy and head coach of the now defunct F2 Logistics, and was recently appointed as coach from the University of the Philippines in UAAP women’s volleyball – a school that is also part of the Frank Lao-led Strong Group Athletics stable.
