Jinger Duggar Recalls How She Told Her Family She Was Pregnant (Exclusive)

“I texted him and said, ‘Should I tell them tonight?’ “And he said, ‘Of course it’s very special. They’re all together there,'” he said. “My mom and my sisters all got in the jacuzzi, then I got out. They noticed me sitting on the edge, but I didn’t say anything.”

“Then ‘Isn’t it cold? Are you going to come in?’ They said, ‘Well, I guess you shouldn’t do that if you’re pregnant, right?’ “I thought,” he shared. “They were very surprised. It was the sweetest thing. I was able to explain it all at once.”

Later Jinger’s sister Jessa Duggar Seewald She was able to find out the gender of her baby. “When I was in Arkansas, I took a blood test to find out the gender. Jessa got the results. She’s my sister, who is right above me. She got the results and then sent them to us because I wanted us to find out together,” says Jinger.

“I didn’t want this to just land in my email. I said, ‘I need to send this to him so Jeremy and I can find out together,'” she adds. “Then she sent us a package with a little gender reveal outfit. So cute. Oh, so so cute.”

As for Jeremy, the former Major League Soccer player told his family while the couple was filming an episode of their podcast.

“We were filming our podcast. They were watching the girls for an hour. So we told them, ‘Hey, we want to have you on the podcast in about an hour, just to talk about some parenting stuff. If you could get ready,'” she tells PEOPLE exclusively. says.

“They got ready and then we sat them down. We were filming the podcast and I asked them, ‘What advice would you give to a young couple about to have their third child?’ “We started asking very specific questions like, ” continues. “They start to answer, but then you can see their faces. It starts to come to her. Then I put my arm around Jinger and asked another question, I don’t remember what it was. And then it came to their minds, and they were kind of in shock, and it all developed from there, but it was fun.”

Jinger and Jeremy are expecting their third child together, they announced exclusively to PEOPLE on Oct. 15. The couple, who got married in November 2016, currently have daughters named Felicity (6) and Evangeline (3).

Although the couple had no preference on the gender of their third child, Jeremy said it was “incredible to be parents to little girls.” However, they are undoubtedly “wondering about becoming parents of a young child.”

“Being a girl dad would be amazing if it was another little girl,” Jeremy said of the gender of their third child, while Jinger added: “Either way, we’re happy!”
