Michigan man sends more than 400 emails threatening to kill federal judge

DETROIT – A Michigan man is accused of threatening to kill a federal judge in a series of more than 400 emails sent to government offices. WDIV Local 4 reports.

James Nelson Holloway II, 33, of Macomb County, faces federal charges after allegedly sending the emails from two accounts to the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Government Accountability Office on Tuesday, the report said. The emails appear to be in response to search warrants served on his hotel rooms, car and caravan on Friday, October 18; the judge he allegedly threatened signed one of the arrest warrants.

He allegedly identified himself in the emails and wrote things like: ‘But judges can’t be killed? Says who? The founding of this country has killed hundreds of corrupt judges…Yes, I am going to kill (federal magistrate judge) in a court of law.”

The search warrants were part of an FBI investigation that began in September when Holloway allegedly purchased $3,000 worth of tactical items from Amazon. Authorities received a tip and launched an investigation because Holloway was convicted of a federal concealed carry offense in 2019.
