‘Outer Banks’ stars tease season 4 character growth and what’s to come

Poguelandia: A Outdoor benches Experience” returned to Los Angeles on Saturday prior to to show season four part two premiere, where fans, artists and the show’s cast came together in an immersive pop-up.

The popup contained all the things Outdoor benches – the characters’ surf shop, food inspired by the series and a concert to end the event with performances by Jungle, Remi Wolf and Glorilla. The second annual event is modeled after the Netflix hit, which focuses on the haves (Kooks) and the have-nots (Pogues), who go through their teenage years while murdering and solving mysteries on an island.

Chase Stokes – who plays John B and experiences a lot of loss on the show – shared with The Hollywood Reporter how he channeled his character’s need for survival this season, saying, “I think as an artist we always go internally for that kind of thing.”

“I’m not someone who’s fortunate enough to not have trauma in my life, so I think it was really kind of a deep dive and revisiting some experiences from my past that I really brought into John B this season,” the star added. .

From season one through first part of season four – which was released on October 10 – the characters’ growing pains included dealing with unhealthy family dynamics, friendship complications, and quests.

“I’ve seen my character grow and become more stressed because his friends won’t be around anymore,” Rudy Paktow said. “I think he really wants to try to contain them. And when Pope came up with the idea of having Poguelandia 2.0 be his property, which just created his world, I think that’s exactly what he wanted.

Madelyn Cline added, “I think we’re on this healing journey right now. But how much healing are we actually doing when we run?

Other cast members, including Carlacia Grant and Jonathan “JD” Daviss, whose characters are typically the voice of reason among the crew, spoke to THR about what will happen for their characters this season.

“(Cleo’s) going to see red,” Grant said. “She goes through every stage of grief and anger is one of them.” As for Daviss, who plays Pope, he explained, “At the end of the day, they’re really all going to crash.”

While the on-screen resolution for season four has yet to be seen, in real life the crew has formed a close bond working on the show over the past five years.

“There’s a level of trust you have with the people around you that you know they’re going to show up and do their job as well,” Stokes said. “It has been that way for the past five years and it has never changed.”

“It’s all the little moments that I think add up and are really my favorite parts of it,” Daviss added. “Whatever group of friends you have your jokes in, we could go and be completely in our own little joke for the entire conversations so no one would know what we’re talking about. So it was a blessing that a group of people came up with it this way.”

Following the premiere event, held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, the venue opened to fans for a DJ set, cast interactions and live music performances, including Glorilla performing her hits “Tomorrow” and “Wanna Be” .
