Janesville drug dealer sentenced after man overdosed and died

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WIFR) – A 49-year-old man will receive his sentence after being found guilty of dealing drugs to a man who later overdosed and died.

David Steptoe was found guilty of first-degree reckless homicide by delivery of drugs and possession of fentanyl with intent to deliver.

Steptoe sold drugs to multiple people, including fentanyl to a 41-year-old man, which resulted in his overdose and death. Steptoe also had cocaine and fentanyl on him when he was arrested.

Judge Derrick Grubb sentenced Steptoe to 32 years in the Wisconsin State Prison System; 22 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision.
