Tickets for Epic Universe sell out quickly, but something else at the resort sells out even faster

Universal Orlando’s new Epic Universe theme park will open even sooner than most people, including me, expected. Getting tickets to Epic Universe right now is a bit of a hurdle to overcome, but if you want to be one of the first to visit the park, you still can. However, if you want to discover other new features at the resort, you will have to wait a little longer.

Everything we know about Epic Universe indicates that the park will be something truly revolutionary. Tickets to Epic Universe for the park’s opening in May 2025 are currently only available for purchase as part of multi-day ticket packages, with only one day of Epic Universe included in each package. However, if you’re interested in staying at the Grand Helios Resort, a hotel attached to Epic Universe, you’re out of luck for the first month or so.

The Grand Helios resort is fully booked weeks after the opening of Epic Universe

In addition to the Epic Universe theme park, Universal Orlando Resort will open a new flagship hotel, Grand Helios Resort, which is connected to the park and has a dedicated park entrance for hotel guests. Hotel reservations went on sale with Epic Universe ticket packages. The hotel quickly filled up. As of this writing, the first night currently available for reservations is June 14, 2024, approximately three and a half weeks after the theme park opens.

As a huge fan of theme park resort hotels, this news blew me away because honestly, I’m just as excited to experience Grand Helios as I am to visit Epic Universe. Amusement park resorts are great fun, and Universal hotels are as good or even better than Disney in many ways. And because the hotel is connected to Epic Universe, it offers views completely different from those available at most theme park hotels.

More Grand Helios rooms may be available later

While rooms at the Grand Helios cannot be booked for almost the first month of Epic Universe’s operation, not every room at the hotel may actually be sold out. This is a strange situation because it seems that the first day you can book now is available for every room type, but on all previous nights there are no vacancies.

You wouldn’t normally expect this much of a difference in availability, so the reason you can’t currently book before mid-June may be because rooms are actually being held back. Single-day tickets for Epic Universe are not yet available to the general public, but they will certainly become available at some point between now and opening day. I wonder if we could make the Grand Helios rooms available with these tickets.

Whatever happens, it already seems clear that there is a lot of excitement around Epic Universe. When it opens next summer, we can be sure that there will be a lot of people there, even if not everyone will be able to stay in the same hotel.
