AEW Championship Titles: Who currently holds each belt, how they won it, and who might win it next

If you are I’m just starting my adventure with wrestling or have been following AEW since the promotion launched in 2019there’s a good chance you want to find out which wrestlers hold all the gold in All Elite Wrestling. With eight different titles, including the AEW Championship, AEW Women’s World Championship, various midcard and tag team belts, the company has plenty of major talent at the top of its massive roster.

With this in mind, we’ve prepared both a quick summary of each of these championships, as well as a more detailed explanation of how each champion got the gold around their waists and who we think can beat them in the future.

And with several high-profile AEW events taking place just around the corner where these titles will surely be defended, be sure to check back to see who holds one of the company’s eight championship titles.

AEW World Championship

Jon Moxley looks at Bryan Danielson at AEW WrestleDream

Titleholder: Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley, one of the greatest former WWE stars in AEWis currently in his record fourth reign as AEW World Champion after defeating former Blackpool Combat Club stablemate Bryan Danielson in a brutal and controversial main event match at WrestleDream in October 2024. Mox has been one of the most popular and successful wrestlers in AEW over the last few years, and his reign of terror as leader of a stable of heels also made him one of the most feared.

Though the former WWE Champion’s reign just started, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if someone like Darby Allin or Orange Cassidy beat him at the end, especially after both of the babies’ faces were highlighted in the final shot of the October 2024 pay-per-view.

AEW Women’s World Champion

Title holder: Mariah May

After a long stint as Toni Storm’s protégé, Mariah May defeated her former mentor and ended her 281-day reign at All In London in August 2024, becoming the 10th wrestler to hold the AEW Women’s World Championship since its introduction in first episode AEW dynamite in October 2019

It doesn’t seem likely that May will suffer any losses in the near future (at least in title matches). However, when she finally relinquishes the title, it’s possible that Willow Nightingale, who pushed May to her limits at WrestleDream, will be the one.

TBS Champion

Title holder: Mercedes Moné

Mercedes Moné, wrestler formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWEhas taken AEW by storm since debuting with the company in early 2024, and quickly became the TBS (Women’s Secondary Title) Champion a few months after arriving on the scene.

While DMD’s Dr. Britt Baker was unsuccessful in her match against Moné at All In 2024, there is still a lot of money left in this feud as AEW decides to bring the fight back. I’m not saying it will happen tomorrow or next week, but putting the belt on Baker after a great feud and match with the TBS champion could be a win-win for everyone.

AEW Tag Team World Champions

Title holders: Young Bucks

Those damn Young Bucks – Matthew and Nicholas Jackson – yes dominated the AEW tag scene (and almost every other promotion, from PWG to NJPW) for the better part of the last five years, holding the AEW Tag Team Championship multiple times. The company’s EVPs have held the belts during their current reign since Dynasty in April 2024.

While it’s great to see these evil brothers lie, cheat and scheme to achieve victory, it’s only a matter of time before someone comes along and strips them of their belts. When that day comes, who better than FTR to kick off the next phase of their legendary feud.

AEW International Champion

Title holder: Konosuke Takeshita

Konosuke Takeshita had quite an upset when he defeated Will Ospreay, who holds the record 42 five-star matches or moreto claim Aerial Assassin’s AEW International Championship at WresleDream in October 2024. Rising wrestler and member of the villainous Don Callis family has looked like a rising star for several years now, and this puts him on the path.

Considering Takeshita won the belt through unfair means (his stable interfered), it wouldn’t be shocking if Ospreay came back and defeated him to regain the title. But if not Opsreay, then maybe new Ricochet will start collecting belts.

TNT Master

Title holder: Jack Perry

Jack Perry, son the late Luke Perryhas been one of AEW’s main attractions since being named one of the company’s four pillars in 2019. And even though he abandoned his “Jungle Boy” persona for a more heel look, Perry was a lot of fun to watch, especially now that he’s the TNT champion.

After successfully defending his title at WrestleDream, Perry was approached by Daniel Garcia in a wild session that was one of the most important moments of the programputting them on a collision course. Taking the belt away from an established star can be a huge challenge, especially if they’re moving up the food chain.

AEW Trio World Champions

Title holders: Blackpool Combat Club

The team of Claudio Castagnoli, PAC and Wheeler Yuta, all members of the Blackpool Combat Club, have been the AEW Trio World Champions since defeating The Patriarchy, Bang Bang Gang and House of Black in a ladder match at All In London back in August 2024 and since time they dominate.

Considering BCC is currently the top stable in AEW and faction leader Jon Moxley holds the World Championship, it wouldn’t be surprising if Team Trios remained champions for at least a few months. But when they do shed their belts, maybe The Acclaimed will be the band that gets the job done.

AEW Continental Champion

Title holder: Kazuchika Okada

Kazuchika Okada, five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion and NJPW mainstay for the better part of two decades, has been the AEW Continental Champion since defeating Eddie Kingston on the March 2024 episode. AEW dynamite. The member of The Elite, a living legend in the wrestling world, has not slowed down since joining the company.

While it would be cool to see Okada hold the title for 721 days (one day longer than his historic fourth IWGP reign), he will obviously move up the food chain sooner or later. And if we’re going to find someone with enough skill to beat him, it’s got to be Kyle O’Reilly.
