Cracking the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is widely considered to be one of the toughest tasks across the world. To secure a seat in a prestigious institution like IIT, students have to perform exceptionally well in the examination, competing with millions of candidates. In a similar scenario, Keshav Agarwal, a resident of Sector 47, Gurugram, Haryana, successfully secured 5th rank in JEE Advanced 2020 and got admission in IIT Bombay.

Keshav secured the top position in his state by scoring 329 out of 396 marks. His father, Naveen Agarwal, a software engineer, praised his son’s hard work and dedication. He mentioned that Keshav’s success was expected given his consistent study schedule of 12 hours a day. The exam results confirmed their expectations. Despite intense preparation, Keshav maintained his balance by taking regular breaks, which allowed him to focus more effectively.

Naveen Agarwal also emphasized that his son excelled academically throughout school. Keshav scored 97.6% in his class 10 exams and 95% in class 12. However, it was in class 9 that Keshav decided to pursue his engineering career in a reputed institution like the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). While coaching was part of his preparation, Keshav paid special attention to self-education.

Keshav attributed his success to the unwavering support of his parents and teachers who supported him all the way to achieving his dream. Looking to the future, Keshav’s goal is to serve his country by becoming a scientist.

Similarly, a young man from Chandigarh, Sarvesh Mehtani, secured the top position in JEE Advanced 2017. Sarvesh, a resident of Panchkula in Chandigarh and son of an income tax officer, in an interview shared that despite spending time on social media and watching cartoons like any other teenager, he scored 10 CGPA in class 10 and 95.4% in class 12 exams. Sarvesh revealed that he devoted around 5 to 6 hours a day to studying, increasing it to 8 to 10 hours during vacations, which ultimately helped him crack JEE Advanced in 2017.
