NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Unseasonably warm weather continues across the midstate

A cooler day is expected across the midstate today, with temperatures expected to stay in the 70s this afternoon under mostly sunny skies.

Tonight will also be cooler, with lows around 50 tomorrow morning.

We will warm up quickly tomorrow afternoon with daytime highs in the mid 80s. With a high temperature of 86 in Nashville, the country looks to break the record of 84 set in 1973.

A cold front will approach the center late Friday and into Saturday, causing increased cloud cover, but isolated rain showers will also be possible as the front passes. Not everyone will be able to see the rain.

Saturday will be cooler and partly sunny again, with highs reaching the 70s. The night will be chilly, with temperatures dropping to 40 degrees by Sunday morning.

Sunday afternoon will be even cooler, with temperatures in the upper 60s and 70s.

We’ll warm up a bit more on Monday, with highs in the mid to upper 80s under partly cloudy skies.

The middle of next week looks sunny on Tuesday and Wednesday, with a mix of clouds and sun and temperatures in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees.
