Former youth judge pleads guilty to child sex crimes in Warrick Co.

WARRICK CO., Ind. (WFIE) – A man who was a youth baseball umpire in Warrick County has pleaded guilty to several child sex crimes.

Stephen Custer was arrested last year after authorities said he was attacked by a parent at a game.

Deputies say that before the attack, the parents’ child ran out of the bathroom screaming that Custer had taken photos of him.

Let’s say another child reported the same thing.

Dad admitted hitting Custer, who was under 18 at the time.

According to the sheriff’s office, 22 files containing child sexual abuse material and seven files containing voyeuristic material were found on his Microsoft tablet and phone.

Deputies say these voyeuristic files are videos from several bathrooms of boys using urinals and stalls.

On Monday morning, court records show Custer pleaded guilty to child abuse (attempt to commit), possession of child pornography and camcorder voyeurism.

Warrick Superior Court officials say he will have to register on the sex offender registry for 10 years.

Officials say he also was sentenced to two years probation.
