Zepto CEO Palicha praises his team, says employees work 80-100 hours a week

Zepto CEO Aadit Palicha recently said that the fast-trading player’s employees work 80 to 100 hours a week. Talking about his company’s work culture at the NDTV Global Summit, the executive praised his team for their hard work and attributed it to the company’s rapid growth to reach a market valuation of $5 billion.

The CEO of the high-speed trading player said his company values passion and puts purpose above personal financial gain. He said his employees are really focused on building something and that’s why they don’t mind putting in the hours, Moneycontrol reports.

“Honestly, working 80-100 hours a week, we could probably do half that with a lot less stress… At some point, money becomes irrelevant. We love what we build, we work like crazy and we are truly excited about what we create. It’s not really about money or personal property,” Palicha noted.

It is worth noting that the debate on work-life balance has been going on for a long time. The issue became heated when Infosys founder Narayana Murthy urged young people to spend 70 hours a week at work last year. While there are proponents of hustle culture, younger generations are advocating for greater importance to be placed on mental health and personal well-being.

Additionally, Palicha said he remains optimistic about his company’s potential to change the startup game in the country. He said that compared to foreign players, internet companies have failed to achieve the same level in India. “We think we have an opportunity to really build an exciting company, and if we succeed, we will add enormous value – not only to shareholders and capital markets, but to the startup ecosystem in general.” he added. The quick trading player was founded by Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra in July 2021.
