A target date has been set for the reopening of Bradford’s bus interchange

Following the closure, structural studies showed the interchange could reopen safely with “mitigation measures implemented”.

A WYCA spokesman said 23 of the 29 bus stops would initially reopen and the remaining six would be closed until April 2025 to complete waterproofing works on the road.

They said the work would mean some services would remain on the street until it was completed.

Real-time information will also not be available until February when new timetables are developed, but additional staff will be employed to assist passengers.

Elevators, escalators and toilets will be operational when the lower concourse reopens on October 28, but the access ramp to the train station will be closed to allow for resurfacing and the installation of new lighting and artwork.

WYCA says work is underway to transform the former taxi rank into a new public square.
