The former Harlan County black bear shines in the second half

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) – The Kentucky Wildcats dominated Kentucky Wesleyan in the team’s first exhibition game on Wednesday, October 23.

The Cats team achieved this thanks to good defensive play and a series of three-pointers, shooting 50% from beyond the arc as a team with the score being 21-42.

In just over nine minutes on the court, Harlan County native Trent Noah quickly contributed to those results.

The Cats shot 59.1% from three-point range in the second half, which Noah checked for the first time as a Wildcat at Rupp Arena around the 10:00 mark.

The former Harlan County Black Bear scored 12 points on 4-5 shots from beyond the arc, including three straight goals, and also had two assists and one rebound.

“When the first one goes in, the next one opens up a little bit,” Noah said. “It’s just a tribute to my teammates for finding me, making the right plays and making the extra pass. It’s fun to play like that. We just always want to play for others, let everyone eat and that’s an amazing brand of basketball.

After winning the exhibition, UK men’s basketball head coach Mark Pope praised Noah for his microwave shooting skills.

“Yes, Trent is not shy,” Pope said. “It’s really great to have him on the floor and our guys love him.”

Kentucky returns to play at Rupp Arena on Tuesday, October 29 against Minnesota State Mankato at 7 p.m.
