The Bamia School in Linden is coming to an end

DESPITE political intrigue and various challenges during construction, Bamia School in Linden, Region 10, is currently 95 percent complete, according to St8tment Inc., the construction company responsible for the project.
On Wednesday, the company firmly denied rumors that the school’s construction is far from completed.

The project faced several obstacles, including material shortages, rising costs, and labor shortages.
However, the construction company was granted an extension to the school’s graduation deadline until the end of 2024 and is still on track to meet the revised deadline. Minimal work is ongoing, mainly in the electrical and plumbing areas.

Mr Akannie Blair, lead project manager, expressed optimism about the school’s future, stating: “It will be one of the most modern and advanced schools in the region and will be an excellent learning environment.” The school has been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including a gymnasium, a main building with 44 spacious classrooms, an auditorium with a stage, a sick bay equipped with showers, two smart classrooms, modern toilets, a library, a music room, a science laboratory, a staff room and more. Just.

The award of the contract to the School in Bamia was met with sharp criticism from part of the opposition and its media. The executive, Mr. Rawle Ferguson, highlighted the irony of this stance, noting that while these critics have long advocated for government support for Black-owned businesses,

companies, are now undermining the very projects that benefit from such support. He emphasized that despite speculations, the project is proceeding according to plan.

As Bamia School nears completion, it aims to serve as a beacon of modern education in Linden, providing students with access to advanced facilities that will enhance their learning experience.
