The New York Jets have made plenty of headlines so far throughout the 2024 season, but it looks like they’ll be quiet in the days leading up to the November 5 trade deadline.

According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the Jets “have enough room to sign another veteran,” but “the feeling is that they’ve had enough of blockbusters.”

New York has $15.7 million in salary cap space left, even after acquiring star receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders and adding star forward Haason Reddick to the roster after his months-long hiatus.

Still, there doesn’t seem to be a quick fix for a team that has lost four straight games after entering the year with high expectations. The Jets have struggled to find a rhythm while veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers has struggled in his first year back with a torn Achilles tendon that cost him virtually the entire 2023 season.

Cimini pointed out that New York has enough assets to add depth to weak positions, but it doesn’t seem likely that another major acquisition will head to the Big Apple.

“The Jets have a pick in every round of the 2025 draft, so there is no shortage of draft capital to make a small trade to improve their depth at safety or tight ends,” Cimini said. “There comes a moment when you have to say enough is enough.”
