Traffic stop leads to arrest of wanted woman in Mount Juliet and discovery of nearly ,000 in stolen merchandise

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A traffic stop in Mount Juliet led to the arrest of a wanted Nashville woman, according to Mount Juliet police.

MJPD said they stopped the vehicle after it was clocked going 91 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone on I-40. During the stop, police discovered that a 21-year-old female passenger had an active arrest warrant.

“The officer discovered that the passenger had an active, full, 50-state extradition warrant in connection with a major shoplifting incident at a Kohl’s store in Rutherford County,” MJPD said.

Further investigation into the incident led police to discover approximately $5,899 worth of merchandise. The items were largely from the recent shoplifting incident at Kohl’s.

Police arrested the suspect on an outstanding warrant. They will also work with Kohl’s representatives to pursue additional charges and return the items.

“We are grateful for our officers’ proactive policing efforts and thorough investigative work in preventing crime and supporting neighboring communities,” MJPD said.
