A traffic stop on I-40 in Mount Juliet led to the arrest Friday of a 21-year-old Nashville woman who also had a warrant for theft out of Rutherford County.

The woman was reportedly driving 90 miles per hour before she was stopped by Mount Juliet police officers. During the search, officers discovered a warrant for her arrest relating to the alleged crime of shoplifting a large quantity of Kohl’s merchandise from a location in Rutherford County.

After searching her car, authorities found $5,899 worth of merchandise. The merchandise found included various beauty products, most of which were labeled as coming from Kohl’s.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene, where Mount Juliet police plan to coordinate charges with Kohl’s representatives.
