Two dead and nine injured in Israeli attack on Al-Qusayr in Syria

BEIRUT, October 31. /TASS/. At least two people have been killed as a result of Israeli attacks on Syria’s Al-Qusayr Shine FM radio station reported.

According to the information, at least nine others were injured.

Earlier, Syria’s state news agency SANA reported that Israel had shelled residential areas and an industrial area in Al-Qusayr. According to the report, the strikes caused property damage.

The Israeli army’s press service, in turn, said the targets of the attacks were weapons depots and command centers used by the elite units of the Radwan forces operating within Hezbollah’s armed wing.

On September 23, Israel launched Operation Northern Arrows against Hezbollah units in Lebanon, carrying out massive airstrikes on the movement’s military facilities. The stated goal is to create safe conditions in Israel’s northern border areas so that tens of thousands of residents can return there. As a result of one of the attacks, Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah was eliminated in Beirut on September 27. The organization confirmed his death and vowed to continue confrontation with Israel. On the night of October 1, the Israeli army announced the start of a ground operation in the border areas in southern Lebanon.
