The World Equestrian Center is hosting its 4th annual Food and Wine Festival

OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) – Glasses and plates were full and people were all smiles as they made their way through the Food and Wine Festival.

There was music, food and of course lots of wine.

“Just the creativity and ability to try new drinks,” says Jeremy Gow, Senior Director of Food and Beverages Operations. “Try new foods that you may have never tried before without buying that entire bottle of wine.”

Thousands of people visit the event every year.

Like the Colburns telling TV20 they’ve attended every festival since the first.

“This is the most beautiful event. Short ribs, great wine, these winery people came from Chile and they own wineries and they came here and everything is delicious. said Diane Colburn.

It is a production every year when the festival returns.

Gow tells TV20 they are passionate about food and drink.

“This is one of the best times of year to show that passion and we get great chefs joining us and members of the drinks team who get to show their passion and create something really fun for people to try .” Gow said.

Gow also says it’s a good feeling seeing people return year after year.

“Not only is there a tasting component to it, but there is also an educational component to it. We have a master sommelier on the team here who will lead the education team and people leave here wanting to learn something as well.” Gow said.

Guests also have the chance to meet celebrity chefs and a chance to win one of the mystery basket competitions.
