Immediately following a victory parade expected to draw tens of thousands of fans to downtown Los Angeles, a celebratory event will be held at Dodger Stadium to conclude the team’s championship season.

According to the team, the parking gates at the stadium will open at 8:30 a.m. for the Friday celebration, and the stadium entrance gates will open at 9 a.m. There will be food and merchandise for sale. Entertainment will be provided in the stadium prior to the team’s arrival, including coverage of the parade on DodgerVision video boards.

“All Dodger Stadium guidelines and rules apply to this event, including the reminder not to bring signs, bags or other items not permitted under our policies,” a statement from the team said.

The Dodgers noted that “due to logistics, traffic and timing, fans will not be able to attend both events (the parade and the stadium party).”

Dodger officials said a portion of proceeds from the stadium event will be donated to the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, “which addresses the most pressing issues facing Los Angeles with a mission to bring education, health care, homelessness and social justice to all Angelenos to improve.”

The celebratory events will be held on the 64th anniversary of the birth of legendary Dodger pitcher Fernando Valenzeula, who passed away on October 22.

“It’s going to be emotional,” Dodger manager Dave Roberts said. “Fernando was a friend of mine. I know he’s smiling now and very proud of this organization, so he will be missed. I’m sure it’s something he would have wanted to be a part of, but it will be. ” emotional for all of us.”
