Like the weather heats the annoying flies are starting to swarm across the country. But not for one Perth woman who swears by an affordable $12 Bunnings buy to keep them at bay.

Keeley Starling revealed the clever hack social media and admitted she was “honestly amazed” at how well the product worked.

“I’m about to show you something really disgusting, but hear me out because you’re going to need it this summer with the amount of flies we’re getting,” she said in a video on TikTok This week she admitted that she and her partner went to the hardware store to find a solution.

“I don’t know why, but there are so many flies everywhere,” she continued. “We’ve seen these fly traps and look… it’s disgusting.”

Keeley showed off the Envirosafe Fly Trap, which costs just $11.59, before getting started. It is a clear, cylindrical container filled with a bright green solution. According to the product description. It is a non-toxic, pesticide-free solution that is ‘irresistible to flies.

“You have to leave it for two to three weeks,” Keeley said.

But after just three days, the Perth woman showed what the container had yielded. And it was almost full of possibly hundreds of dead flies.

‘I’m telling you it works. So get one,” she said, but admitted that “it stinks” when it’s full. “You have to bury the flies to get rid of the smell,” she added.

Her recommendation was met with praise from other Aussies who have tried it, with many agreeing that it is “really great” at catching flies. But many warn about the odor associated with the entrapment and the fact that it seems to attract more flies.
